Privacy policy

This is the English version of the privacy policy used across the Vida Libre websites.

Data protection at a glance

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy. When you use this website, various items of personal data are collected. Personal data is data that can be used to identify you personally. This policy explains what data we collect and what we use it for, as well as how and for what purpose this happens. Please note that data transmission over the internet (for example when communicating by email) can have security gaps; complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
Dr. Coletta Damm
2a Volta
07200 Felanitx
Mallorca, Spain
Telephone: +34 678 292458
Email: info@vida-libre.org

The controller is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others determines the purposes and means of processing personal data (such as names, email addresses and similar).

Withdrawing your consent

Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You may withdraw consent you have already given at any time; an informal message by email is sufficient. The lawfulness of the processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)

Where processing is based on Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data, including profiling based on those provisions. If you object, we will no longer process the personal data concerned unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims. If your personal data is processed for direct marketing purposes, you have the right to object at any time to such processing, including profiling connected with it.

Right to lodge a complaint

In the event of infringements of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of their habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.

Right to data portability

You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in performance of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done where technically feasible.

Information, blocking, deletion and correction

Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the processing, and, where applicable, a right to correction, blocking or deletion of this data. You can contact us at any time at the address given in the legal notice.

Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data, for example while the accuracy of your data is being verified, where processing was unlawful and you request restriction instead of erasure, where we no longer need the data but you require it to assert or defend legal claims, or while an objection under Art. 21(1) GDPR is being weighed. Where processing has been restricted, such data may — apart from being stored — only be processed with your consent, for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, to protect the rights of another person, or for reasons of important public interest.

SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the "https://" in the browser address bar and the padlock symbol.

Contact by email, telephone and the contact form

If you contact us, your details, including the contact data you provide, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing your enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass this data on without your consent. Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures, and otherwise on our legitimate interest in effectively handling enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). The data you send us remains with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies; mandatory statutory retention periods remain unaffected. Enquiries about a stay may include health-related information, which is special category data under Art. 9 GDPR; we process it only on the basis of your explicit consent and treat it with strict confidentiality.

Server log files

The provider of these pages automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits to us. This includes browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and IP address. This data is not combined with other data sources. It is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: the website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of the website.

Cookies and analytics

This website is kept deliberately lean and does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Technically necessary cookies may be used to deliver the site securely. Embedded content from third parties (such as the documentary hosted on YouTube) is loaded only when you scroll to it; once loaded, the provider may collect data about your visit under its own privacy policy.

Objection to promotional emails

We hereby object to the use of contact data published in the legal notice for sending unsolicited advertising and information material. We expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited advertising being sent, for example by spam email.
